After finishing my degree in Accounting, Economics and Business Administration, I spent six years as a client advisor for an international investment bank. It was an exciting time, as the banks were just beginning to install worldwide banking systems for Global Trade Finance, and I was a member of the project team leading the pilot implementation of software at the bank’s HQ in Zurich.

I then joined PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) as a Management Consultant, where I was able to develop my IT and management skills. For the next six years I worked mainly in private and retail banking. I led the implementation of the Avaloq Banking System book and balance engine for several major banks and continued to consult the clients during the system’s lifecycle. In fact, thanks to a variety of opportunities throughout my career, I have now accumulated some ten years of Avaloq experience, including everything from object model definition and implementation to release and test management.

In 2003, I left PwC (which was by then called IBM Business Consulting) to co-found Orbium. All through my career I’ve always been eager to enter new business areas in order to develop my skills and acquire the experience I need to meet new challenges. And it’s always been my dream to build and manage a company successfully from scratch and ensure its sustainable growth over the long term.

Today, Orbium has grown so much that I’m once again looking to explore new areas such as product development and branching out into new products, markets, and territories. It’s great to think that the best is yet to come.
