Integration of SecurEasy™ to Manage Avaloq Access Security
Project Background
This bank decided to replace its aging software solution with the Avaloq Banking System. As the new system needed to be implemented across several locations, the bank was particularly concerned about security. It therefore carried out a major analysis of security options before finally choosing SecurEasy™ to manage the implementation of Avaloq Security. For the bank, SecurEasy™ offered the most efficient solution for managing all its fundamental security challenges.
The Client
The client is a large, independent private bank with international locations in Europe and Asia.
Challenges
This was a complex project on a short timeline. The start of the parameterisation phase was carried out with Avaloq Banking System Release 2.5, with the aim to pass via Release 2.6 and finish with Avaloq Release 2.7. The Orbium security team had to ensure SecurEasy™ was perfectly adapted to each different Avaloq version. Moreover, SecurEasy™ had to be constantly updated in line with the regular Avaloq Banking System updates. In this way, the client was guaranteed optimal security throughout the various implementation phases.
At each step, security was fine-tuned to fit new business and technical requirements. New security features, such as Object Person or Export Security appeared only in the last Avaloq release. SecurEasy™ therefore had to be constantly updated with the latest Avaloq release in order to ensure the Security Stream did not slow down the overall implementation project.
Scope of Project and Orbium's Role
The project involved implementing all Avaloq Banking System modules. One of Orbium’s main responsibilities was integrating SecurEasy™ and, in parallel, providing guidance for the implementation of the new Functional Security Concept. Orbium security specialists also designed and implemented the Object Security Concept.
Results
The bank went live on Avaloq Release 2.7 with SecurEasy™ ensuring optimal system security. During the implementation phase, SecurEasy™ allowed the Security Stream to react efficiently to any change request, and it is now used to maintain security on the Avaloq Banking System. Thanks to its different modules, such as the Report Engine and Graphical Views, SecurEasy™ has allowed the bank to maintain a clear and reliable vision of Avaloq Security.
