Cut-over & Stabilisation

Our experience of implementing and rolling out system changes has led us to develop a Best Practices checklist of activities that ensures everything runs like clockwork.

The cut-over plan isn’t something that comes at the end of a project; it needs to be considered well in advance. It includes activities that require significant lead time and need to be run in parallel with the main project. These activities include training the people who will be responsible for running and maintaining the system in the future – as well as training end users about their future roles and responsibilities, and developing business processes required for the delivery and stabilisation phases.

When the go-live phase begins, cut-over activities include the integration of release management, data migration and user acceptance testing.

Even after implementation is complete, our customers’ confidence and comfort remains a top priority. Orbium consultants remain available onsite to assist with the first weeks of operation. If any challenges arise, they can be addressed immediately thanks to the combination of the client’s usual processes and the support of Orbium consultants.

We never leave a project before we achieve proper closure. Such closure involves a project review, a proper handover to our clients' business and IT personnel and an effective resources demobilisation phase to ensure that no important task is left behind, forgotten or not properly finished.
